Ever had a fire truck race past you and think about how it may be your home it's going to? For that split second your heart stops when you realize your babies are home alone-defenseless. How would you react? Do you have any plans for your pets to get out safely if something like this were to happen? Let us know!
Hmm.. what do you think? Do you believe a pet is just that, or is a pet more like a human being, with emotions and rights? is your pet more like a family member? Let us know what you think!
"While saving human lives is the highest priority of the San Antonio Fire Department, pets are also part of the family. Pets may be more vulnerable to smoke inhalation during fires because they may hide, and human oxygen masks do not properly fit an animal’s face.
On Nov. 8, RezQpets donated eight pet oxygen masks to SAFD to help resuscitate pets suffering from smoke inhalation. The pet oxygen masks are specially designed cone-shaped masks that come in three different sizes. SAFD currently has several pet oxygen masks thanks to previous donations and with this current donation, more SAFD firefighters will be equipped with these life-saving devices."
Help us help your babies, and other pets in case of emergencies such as fires!
This dog was given a second chance thanks to the fire department that helped bring him back to life. If only his home would have signaled the first responders that he was inside, he may have been rescued sooner and not even needed to be resuscitated.
Help us prevent this from happening to you and your loved ones!
Many homes are affected by fires each year, which makes us cringe at the thought that this could be your baby!
